In March 2022, SpaceTEC selected Turbine Workforce to deliver online technical materials for its Certified Aerospace Technician® Core exam preparation. This was an exam-prep announcement, not a report that SpaceTEC used Apprentage or sponsored apprentices through it.
The original announcement
SpaceTEC, a nonprofit based in Titusville, Florida, near Cape Canaveral, supports aerospace workforce education. Its Core Certification competencies address technical, mechanical and electrical knowledge, safety, materials, testing and measurement.
The 2022 post also expressed interest in eventually supporting SpaceTEC's Schools-to-Space® Program for primary and secondary STEM educators. That was a future aspiration, not a delivered product announcement.
Relevance for sponsors
An aerospace apprenticeship sponsor can use an external credential to inform related instruction, but must still map competencies to its own work process and document on-the-job practice. Exam preparation alone is not completion of an apprenticeship.
Apprentage supports the sponsor's coordination of instruction and OJT evidence. The SpaceTEC partnership described here was with Turbine Workforce in 2022, not a retroactive Apprentage customer claim.
