Library learning and apprenticeship access: the 2021 MLPL Turbine project

From the Turbine Workforce archive. Historical organizations and product names describe the work at the time, not current Apprentage customer relationships.

In April 2021, Turbine Workforce announced its work with Mt. Lebanon Public Library (MLPL) on a white-label Virtual Learning Lab. This was a library project, not an Apprentage deployment.

The original project

The announced lab would offer library patrons adult education based on lectures, workshops and programming, alongside workforce upskilling instruction. The post described an expanding relationship with Jeremy and the library.

An apprenticeship lesson

Community access to instruction can make it easier for future apprentices to explore skills before joining an employer-sponsored program. But library coursework alone does not establish apprenticeship enrollment or document on-the-job training.

For a sponsor or intermediary, Apprentage connects related instruction to apprenticeship operations and keeps training evidence with program records. The MLPL announcement illustrates an earlier Turbine learning-delivery use case, not a claim that MLPL used Apprentage.
